DJ Cellsius left Athens in the 90s, settled for some years in London before calling Berlin home in 2009.
Three cities and their sounds, flavors and labyrinth like cult-tour left their mark on his journalism and photography while enlarging his collection of vinyl records that was destined to spin on the Made in Japan 1210s of Berlin’s night echosystem.
Words, images and sounds got mixed up, stories needed a DJ to let them flow in 33 and 45 rounds per minute and on this Friday night he will bring in Eschschloraque a sample of his hypnotic mix of juicy funk, old school hip hop, jazzy beats, rare groove, world percussion, library music and much more.

Die Berliner DJ und Künstlerin ist international erfahren, tourte weltweit und legte bei verschiedenen Festivals auf, wie beispielsweise beim Fusion Festival, bei der Berliner Love Parade, dem Glade Festival (UK) oder dem Smile Rave-Festival (Texas, USA). Dass sie Erfahrung und ein Feingefühl für die Musik- und Clubszene miteinander verknüpft, zeigte Vela bereits als Resident-DJ in legendären Berliner Clubs wie Maria – von der Eröffnung bis zur Schließung –, rund fünf Jahre im Tresor und setzt es an verschiedenen Hotspots der Underground- und Clubkultur fort: seit 1999 im Eschschloraque, mit einer neuen Partyreihe im ://about blank oder regelmäßigen DJ-Sets im Solar Berlin.

Thomas Mahmoud ist ein interdisziplinärer Künstler. Musiker, Schauspieler, Autor und Hörspielproduzent. Bekannt bei SFX und der Kölner Band Von Spar. Er spielte außerdem mit Mouse on Mars, Khan of Finland, Michael Wertmüller, Omöohhhno pathuuontudonthose, The Nest und Tannhäuser Sterben & das Tod und arbeitete kürzlich mit Phoebe Killdeer (Nouvelle Vague, The Short Straws) und Ole Wulfers (Kapaikos, Party Diktator) in Phoebe Killdeer & The Shift zusammen.

Eduardo Delgado Lopez (Educador) provides unique music sets ranging from Hip Hop, Dub, and Jungle to Punk, Latin and Funk. He has played with everyone who is anyone, but is especially known for playing bass with the Caspar Brötzmann Massaker. His radical, minimal and sequential playing seems just to be made for Mark Boombastik’s sharp beat(boxing). As a DJ he serves a wide range of Hip Hop, Dub, Jungle, Punk, Latin and Funk. He has been playing in clubs, such as, Toaster or WMF, and the bass also with Reality Brothers.

Cate Hops ist eine langjährige Weggefährtin, DJ und experimentelle Sounddesignerin. Von Live Noise Performance bis zu Vinyl Reggae und Dub Techno Sets bis zu FLINTA*Soundsystems reicht ihre Bandbreite. Wir sind gespannt.
Matt Migz ist seit Jahren in der Berliner Bass Szene aktiv. Für das Eschschloraque hat der Kanadier eine besondere Selection zusammen gestellt. Jazz, Funk ... die anderen Platten halt.
Das wird auch ohne Visuals garantiert ein bunter Abend !

Die Mitte der Woche wird zum reinsten Vergnügen: am Mittwochabend präsentiert die Berliner DJane und Künstlerin MissVergnügen ausgewählte Musik-Highlights von der Couch aus, wo sie mit ihren Gästen – oder eben "on her own" – das Publikum durch die Nacht bringt, mit einem besonderen Feingefühl für die passende Atmosphäre!

FLABBERGASTED is inspired by random, wholesome, and flabbergasting facts from a place called the internet, as well as Bonnie Tyler, whom Sawako lately finds flabbergasting, because she every now and then falls apart, she doesn’t know what to do, she’s always in the dark but she needs you more than ever. There is nothing I can do - total eclipse of the heart.
SAWAKO OGO is a dancer, choreographer, and improvisational dance practitioner based in Berlin, Germany, originally from Tokyo, Japan.
After attaining B.A. in Dance from San Francisco State University, she immediately proceeded to her professional career to perform the works of Christian Burns, Lenora Lee, Erin Chi-Fang Yen, David Herrera, Natasha Adorlee, Joe Landini, Kristin Damrow, and many others, as a company dancer and a contributor. In 2022, she was nominated for Isadora Duncan Dance Award for outstanding individual performance. Meanwhile, her choreographic works were commissioned and presented by; Lenora Lee Dance, West Wave Dance Festival, and RAWDance in San Francisco.
Her improvisational dance practice is based upon the understanding of the physical structure, and humanity. She aims to speak through movements and her improvisational research evolved to become works “Disaster Chaotic” commissioned and presented by The Finnish Hall Berkeley, and “GOODBYE FOREVER” commissioned by Lenora Lee Dance and presented by Texas Improvisation Dance Festival in 2022.

Stahl, Feuer und die gewaltige Schönheit des Monströsen – KAIs Kunst entführt in poetische Maschinenwelten, die den anarchischen Spirit Berliner Avantgarde seit den 1980ern prägen und als multimediales Werk ästhetischer Extreme kaum aktueller sein könnten.
Das Buch KAI (Köln: Edition_2023) legt nun sein einflussreiches Werk dar und wird mit einer Ausstellung & Special-Events in der Galerie neurotitan präsentiert: Ausgesuchte Werke des Metallbildhauers und Performancekünstlers bilden ein einmaliges Setting für die gleichzeitige Darstellung weiterer Künstler:innen und Akteur:innen!

Yvois

Yvois is an Aotearoa (New Zealand)-born, Berlin-based producer of warm, wonky beats and singer of moody aural treats. Armed with a collection of dusty guitar pedals, warbling tape machines and a smattering of found sounds, she creates chill electronica and low key grooves in her treetop home studio. She is also the founder of Éclat Crew Berlin – a collective of female, trans & non-binary electronic music producers - and one half of the DJ duo hell & a half.

As 1/2 of cottonrecords he was the man behind parties such as Kid Koala, Roy Davis Jr., Laurent Garnier, Richard Dorfmeister, Jazzanova, Domu, Roisin Murphy, Bebel Gilberto, Koop, Natalie Williams, Brotherly and many more…
He shared the stage with Mr.Scruff, Howie B, Dj Vadim, Goldie, Dj Shadow, Ed Solo, JFB, Raga Twins, Bugz in the Attic, Benji B, Zed Bias, Mj Cole and others.

MissVergnügen ist die Berliner DJ und Künstlerin, die wie keine andere den Mittwochabend im Eschschloraque von den Turntables aus in der Hand hat – ihre Mitte der Woche ist schon fast zu einem Ritual geworden, an dem sie jede Konvention brechende DJ-Sets präsentiert: musikalisch Außergewöhnliches, immer wieder Überraschendes oder einfach alles, was das Musik-Liebhaber-Herz begehrt – und das alles mit einem einzigartigen Gespür für die passenden Atmosphäre!
