We get together to celebrate our diversity and our comon love for music and dance. On the decks we welcome DJs Shamsa (Jordan), Hilwi (Palestine) and Rafi Gazani (Syria)

SHAMSA
She was the first woman to seriously produce and play electronic music in Jordan. Since moving to Berlin two years ago she dived deep into the scene, pushing her energetic Arab Techno Sound. That already got her gigs at Acud, Mensch Meier and one at Kater Blau confirmed. So we are very happy to have her with us, playing a slightly different selection.

HILWI
Rasha Hilwi is a vivid part of the Arab/Berlin diaspora. The Palestinian writer likes a healthy selection of tunes from the Arab World both original and remixes. She will take us on a special journey through the Middle East.

RAFI GAZANI
He is that Syrian roller coaster infecting everybody around him with his beautiful crazyness. The DJ and Multimedia afficionado is one half of SIIN, the DJ/production Duo behind Arab Beatz. He will bring that special Arab Funkyness to our little island in Berlin Mitte called : Eschschloraque Rümpschrümp

Home to our "Design By Accident" Xtravaganza for over five years now, so...
"Let's party like it's our birthday !"

And of course resident SPOONMAN DJ will serve some records for starters and COMIC BUREAU will animate the walls - Yallah !

Es ist endlich wieder soweit: Der Vorhang fällt für die Leinwand und das Eschschloraque startet in die nächste Runde der Short Movie Night und damit in den Frühling: Das LITTLE SPRING CINEMA lädt zur Kurzfilm-Nacht mit Johannes Richard Voelkel und Daniel Bussmann!

Der Schauspieler Johannes Richard Voelkel erhielt bereits während seiner Ausbildung den Vontobel Schauspielerpreis in Zürich.
Das Publikum kennt ihn von der Bühne und aus über 60 Film- und Fernsehproduktionen. Er verkörperte Rollen in zahlreichen Krimis von Soko bis Tatort und diversen TV Movies und Kinofilmen wie Homesick oder Vorwärts Immer. Zudem hatte er Engagements in international preisgekrönten Kinofilmen wie Carlos – der Schakal oder Joyeux Noel – der Film wurde für den 78th Academy Award (Oscar) und den Golden Globe nominiert und gewann den Cine de Valladolid.

Seit 2013 ist er auch als Regisseur aktiv. Seine Filme, für die er auch die Drehbücher verfasste, liefen im Wettbewerb von über 30 Filmfestivals weltweit. Er erhielt den Preis „Best Documentary Short“ beim Golden Egg Film Festival in New York City 2015 und eine „Honorable Mention“ beim Festival Brasil de Cinema Internacional in Rio de Janeiro. Für den Kurzfilm TANTALUM überreichte ihm Ken Loach als Jurypräsident des Unchosen Film Festivals in London 2014 den Preis für den besten internationalen Beitrag.

Alle Filme entstanden in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kameramann Daniel Bussmann.
Er ist seit Anfang der 90er ununterbrochen im Kameradepartement beschäftigt. Zunächst als Operator in großen Film- und Fernsehproduktionen. Seit 1998 dann zunehmend auch als DoP. Inzwischen zeichnet er an der Kamera für ganze Serienstaffeln und Fernsehfilmreihen verschiedener deutscher Sender verantwortlich.

Zusammen betreiben sie die Firma Tiefglanzfilm.
Heute Abend zeigen die beiden drei Kurzfilme im Eschschloraque:

Das Stück "J u y a  A n i a" („Mutter Natur“) ist von einem traditionell indigenen Tanz Inspiriert. Die Kultur der Mayo-Yoreme-Indianer stammt aus dem Nordwesten Mexikos, der Heimat der Künstlerin. Aus ihr geht unter anderem der „Danza del Venado“ („Tanz des Hirschen“) hervor. In diesem Kontext wird die Seele des Hirschen in das kontemporäre Werk der Tänzerin überführt.

M i c h e l l e  F e l i x ist eine freischaffende Tänzerin, Choreografin und Tanzpädagogin aus Mexiko. Sie absolvierte ihr Bachelor-Studium für zeitgenössischen Tanz und interessiert sich seit ihrem Studium für die Entwicklung von sozialen Projekten mittels Körperausdruck.

In Europa, China und Lateinamerika erhielt sie die Gelegenheit, viele Erfahrungen als Tänzerin zu sammeln. Die Einflüsse aus unterschiedlichen Kulturen, sowie indigenen Tänzen, aber auch anderen zeitgenössischen Tanzstilen prägten ihre Körpersprache ebenso, wie die Impressionen und die Vielfältigkeit des alltäglichen Lebens.
Mit ihrem ganz eigenen Stil, einer umfangreichen Mischung aus Elementen des T'ai Chi, Breakdance und Modern Dance, verleiht sie auf ebenso vielseitige Art ihren Bewegungen Ausdruck.

Born in East Berlin, Oliver Marquardt was first inspired to become a DJ when the 1984 Break Dance Film "Beat Street" permeated the city's isolated music scene. Equally influential was the dance music he listened to, broadcasted from West Berlin radio. After closely following these new music styles - hip hop, acid house etc – Oliver bought his own pair of turntables in 1989. This was right after the Berlin wall came down, providing fertile soil for the city's new
underground music scene to take roots and by the following year Oliver was hosting his own techno parties. His illegal warehouse parties were noteworthy in themselves Oliver forged ahead as one of the first german DJs to establish a nationwide presence and impressed people with his Dj skills and fine music selection.

DJ Jauche, as he is known, began a residency in Berlin's legendary „Walfisch“ Club and played regularly in many other Berlin Underground Clubs. 1995 he kicked off his party "Jauchomatic" where he brought his brother „Sven Marquardt“ into the club scene and gave him his first job as a "selector/doorkeeper" . Nowadays Sven is famous for his work as an Artist and Photographer and of course as the " Iron Man" selector of Ostgut and now Berghain Club. Jauchomatic stands for music from 1988 to 1995, House to Techno, Oldschool
Trance Tracks, Acid and Breakbeats. His ongoing Event is taking place once a year in his Homebase Berlin and welcomes over 700 happy Ravers.

1998 he launched Jetstream, a small-scale record label of his own. For the 1999 edition of the annual summer festival Loveparade, Oliver prepared under the name Jack Flash a re-edit of the disco classic "Love is in the Air" and pressed 500 white label copies. As the track became an underground hit, he approached the productionteam Milk & Sugar (who were running a label under the same name) for advice on giving it a bigger release.

Oliver debuted his new project Robin Masters Orchestra to showcase his own production paired with various guest vocalists. He continued to champion deep house with Extreme Couching Mix CD series released on DJ SETS now on its fourth edition. In his studio, he stayed busy working with co-producer Björn Brandt, releasing not only as Jack Flash but also as Machomovers, best known for their club hit "Jägermeister". Around this time Oliver expanded his repertoire by producing, mixing and arranging Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft's „15 Neue DAF Lieder“, the bands first album in almost two decades. Over the years DJ Jauche has completed numerous remixes, including for the seminal german punkband Die Ärzte, New York City´s rave pioneer Frankie Bones and Berlin fellow Marusha.

2008 he started releasing new music under the project " Rockford Inc." First release was on Jay Haze's label "Roots/Tunning Spork", followed by the Album release of Desney Bailey "Meant to be". Furthermore he published some vinyls and remixes under the name " Robin Masters Orchestra".
In May 2018 he kicked off releasing his new Album „Backseat Stories“ while continuously djing in clubs, such as „Suicide Circus“, „Sisyphos“, „Ritter Butzke“, „The Egg / London“, „Soho House“ and many more...

Jauche strictly plays Vinyl and combines all styles of music he loves, from House, Disco, Funk to make the events more interesting and keeping the people on their toes.

„Laut·ma·le·rei“, a word open to interpretation, has been chosen as the key to our improvised performance. Jazz musician Nicolas Schulze and performance artist Yuko matsuyama create sound in the darkness. Visual artist Ceren Oykut applies her brush to the sound, interpreting the soundscape as landscape through her live black & white illustration.

The performance series MSI/Movement & Sound Improvisation is a small-scale platform for improvisation; research, practice and performance. The series has been presented at galleries and art spaces since summer 2011. Spontaneity in communication, movement, sound, and reflex is the impulse behind the project.
